So I always knew from day one, that I would struggle with keeping a blog.
A lot has been a struggle lately, I know through these times I'm not the only one.
Perhaps I'm overthinking this blog, sometimes my ambitions out grow my abilities.
Its not a bad thing, but I find I'm always in the deep end, learning to swim in life.
Sometimes it takes me a while to master it all, really get a grip of what direction I should go.
I'm dyslexic and luckily with technology it makes it easier, but I still mix words around, write cant or can and see the other word, I say its like a gremlin, that lives in my brain, somewhere between what I intend to write or say and actually writing or saying it, the wires are crossed and the trick is played.
As much as I would like to say I find passion in writing, these tricks become frustrating by the 5th proof read, 3 hours down, your still finding mistakes or after you have posted which is when the embarrassment really kicks in, always that one grammar Nazi points it out and questions your intelligence, constantly doing edits, to newly spotted mistakes, you couldn't see before its not always easy to face, the prospect of writing up an article.
Especially when I'm trying to push out the video content and podcasts!
I take responsibility for my actions and neglect of this blog.
Overthinking the blog, I've over looked it, so from now on, I'm just going to make it simple,
I'm not overthinking it and making it more complicated than it needs to be.
From now on, this is me, its just an update on what's happening with the colonies, or my content, projects, podcasts, and anything formicidae, I'm just going to blog, it may not be perfect.
So the elephant in the room, the silly amount of time between me posting up content it needs to change!
This has been such an awesome journey, so many people have come forward, showing support for the content I have been making, the youtube channel has 726 colony members, Formicast Podcast has asked me to co-host with him on his podcast. with some very exciting podcast series and youtube live streams.
talking of podcasts, I've managed to edit the Ep.3 of The Colonial AntCast, which has been one technical hurdle after the other, we are getting there! Ep.4 will be recorded soon.
Luckily Formicast the legend Derka, has offered to help coach me to improve our ability to keep up the schedule & editing of The Colonial Antcast.
I got an episode up on the channel featuring the Polyrhachis Dives! they have been busy!
I have started up a Facebook page Myrmecology Files focused on sharing research articles I am reading to share with you all, hopefully creating a comprehensive hub for all things scientifically ant related or found within the global news.
You may ask, well, your presenting more content but you have been struggling to keep up with your current out put, that is true, but I wasn't planning and scheduling my content, I was chaotically finding time, in a chaotic schedule, to make content.
I wasn't planning ahead, or making use of the time I do have effectively, I just had to give myself a kick.
7 P's - Proper Planning And Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance, a lesson i had been taught in life many times for many other things and was not implementing it in my hobby, I wanted my hobby to be carefree content creating, an outlet because I don't normally have one to talk about my ants or connect with people about ants, but I owe you all more commitment.
I will be moving forward by creating content, posts, blogs, ahead of time and scheduling them to be posted at a later date, the YT Channel will be weekly, blog posts daily, I hope to be creating daily content on Tik Tok, I am aiming to switch out posts on Facebook to creating blog articles instead, my aim is not to be stuck stressing to hit deadlines, get some order to this madness, this means some content may be ahead of or behind current affairs, I have set myself set blocks of filming and editing time for each content avenue that I am currently maintaining.
But it also means that content will be regular and found across various platforms frequently.
I will be releasing a schedule on the site, so you can see what is booked for when, so much content incoming involving a group of really awesome content creators and ant keepers around the world.
